The views! From our room and from really everywhere we looked. The staff was super professional and friendly and very helpful. We had the opportunity to sit in the private hot tub by the fjord when it was cold and raining and it was fantastic. The breakfast spread was great and the checkout time of noon gave us plenty of time to enjoy our morning. We loved it.

Ole Johnny is simply the best and made the difference in our experience as he repeatedly went out of his way to ensure our satisfaction. Would return just to see him !
Included breakfast was sensational.
Can’t wait until the room refurbishment later this year.
Free parking is a real plus as parking cost in Norway are outrageous
Eidsfjord is beautiful as is this hotel’s external architecture

Ulvik is a jewel that we really discovered by chance. Two nights was simply not enough. We met the most amazing and friendly people. The staff in the tourist information shop were so good. They were locals and knew the social and cultural history. An amazing stay. Strand Hotel staff were super helpful.

Dinner was Super expensive, I will not say no, but the chef is top. Always ask for a Table Fan which will be given to you on request, as u will need 1 for slight air circulation in the room….coz u will need to shut the windows coz of the outside noise and mosquitoes sometimes.…or else u might feel stuffy or sweaty in the middle of the night…..this is a tip to be used in the whole of Norway.
